So Salem Oregon is starting to feel like more of a home to me after all… I mean, its no Calgary, or Canada for that matter, but I get to see the person I love every day! & I am so thankful for that. Plus, going out shopping all day and getting amazing deals on some furniture to fill our apartment so it doesnt look so empty also helps, lol. I was able to locate a nice green love seat for $50 (thanks to CraigsList.com) and it was in quite good shape! No funky odors or anything, haha. But once we put it in our living room we realized there was a gap between the love seat and couch so we went on a hunt for something for the corner. We originally thought of getting a tree or plant (fake of course because neither of us has a green thumb for the life of us) but they were so expensive! So we went to Ross and found a really nice bambo shelf, that just fits perfectly for a steal of a deal of $40! Not gunna lie, I was pretty stoked about it. We also came to the conclusion that World Market is officially one of our favorite furniture stores. It has some of the coolest things, if you haven’t checked it out you should do so. That is my recomendation for  some internet browsing for the week for ya’ll! lol. So now our apartment is starting to look like our own, more lived in, more “homey” if you will, & its a great feeling. Maybe I will post pictures later, I haven’t decided yet!

As for the friends part, I have upgraded from a “class A homebody/loner” to a “I almost have enough people in my, my5!” In case you have no idea what that it is, its T-mobile’s famous 5 favorite friends added to your cell phone so that you can call them more conviently as well as unlimited. A friend of Joels from work came over last night and brought his gf and we get along really well. Wasnt the first time I met her, but we got along well enough to call her a friend! Other than that though I am slightly lacking. I have another friend, (through Joel of course) Lianna, but she keeps quite busy so its hard to get together with her. I guess 2 friends is better than none though!

So this last week Joel has been super sick with a cold, and I was so happy because I didn’t manage to catch it and was kinda bragging about it! Haha, wow was that a slap in the face, I woke up this morning with the sniffles, a runny nose, and a sore throat. I should have known I would catch it, because I catch EVERYTHING. Even when there is nothing to catch, yep, Kaylah catches it! I guess it would probably help if I started taking vitamins or something, but I tried that once and I always forgot to take them. But it seems to me that I get sick quite often, and its so not fun!

Im still having a few problems with wordpress which is becoming a little frustrating. Ok I lied, it is becoming very frustrating! Anyone who knows how to fix my problems would be my hero! I just need to know how to change the stylesheet of my pages, because they look so blah, and the stylesheet I have now only changes the look of my index. I used to know how to fix this, but now im clueless! Oh and does anyone know how to change the plugged links so that they aren’t seperated on different lines? That beens frustrating the hell out of me… Thanks for the help guys, muchly appretiated!

I never really realized how important it was to have a life. I guess I took it for granted before I came to the US. Being able to just pick up the phone and call a friend to just go out for coffee, or to just sit in her living room watching TV and doing completely random pointless things for hours on end. Oh how I miss those days! I always thought I was like this super shy, UN-social person, and now that I am living somewhere where I don’t know anyone (except for my fiance and his mom) and the only opportunity I have to get out of the house is to go to the grocery store, I realize that I am totally a social butterfly! Haha. Pretty sad eh? The highlight of my day is when Joel comes home from work and just wants to sit on the couch and un-wind from his hectic work day, where as I want to go out and do something adventurous from sitting around the house all day!  HOPEFULLY I will make some friends soon, but its pretty hard when I cant even work!

But on a brighter note, last night I got a bit of socialization besides my hubby-to-be! His friend, Chad, came over and he brought Halo 3. Okay, just for the record, I HATE killing games (minus Star Wars Battlefront) because I completely suck at them! I die within the first .3 seconds every time I swear! But I actually had fun, I had this strategy… I learned how to punch, so what I would do was hide in a dark corner and then wait for someone to come by and punch them rather then try to shoot them down! Haha. It worked pretty well, for the most part anyways. I think I got a total of 4 kills all night!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who tried to help me with my wordpress problems, but wordpress still hates me =(  Lol. I still have those stupid comments on my pages, even after I didn’t allow them. I will figure out it out eventually!

OH, so I found this site, and they pay you to blog which is kinda cool considering if it works, it would be my only source of income, haha. Its called smorty!

Finally! 2 months later and a bunch of headaches later, TADA! somethingcouture.org, my personal place to rant and rave about whatever I want, is ready to go. *smiles* Thanks to install4free.wordpress.net I was so stuck on my installation and found these guys, and thank God I did! Might have been a year before I got it right, hehe. I am so rusty when it comes to coding a website… I still have a few kinks that I need to work out some of which that are driving me nuts! Which reminds me, does anyone know how to get rid of the comments that show up on pages? For some reason I cant get rid of em, you can notice if you click on the girl link to the left, and I have never had this problem before. Any help you could throw my way would be greatly appretiated! & sorry its so bare around here! Hopefully in the next few weeks I will have some more content, and whatnot. Im sure I will!

On another note, my life in the last few months my life has been so crazy and unpredictable, I haven’t been able to do webdesign in over 6 months. Yes, it sucked. Since the last time that I even had a site up and running, I have been so busy I didn’t have time to blog. I went to Bible College, met my future husband, he left the country because of immigration and then I came down to visit him, and he proposed… then I never left! How could I leave him? He’s so dang cute… So now I am living in a foreign country, have virtually endless hours to myself, (due to a lack of not knowing anyone.) BUT, in return it makes more time for this (somethingcouture.org!) In the last 6 months, life has been an experience, thats for sure! Never thought I would be miles and miles away from all my family, but im dealing!
